ALTAR
A Seasonal Practice of Pelvic Self-Care
Upcoming Sessions:
Spring: Sunday March 23, 2025
Summer: Sunday June 15, 2025
10am - 12pm PST - 1pm - 3pm EST - 6pm - 8pm BST
Your pelvis is a living, responsive world unto itself.
It is influenced by the way you breathe. The way you move. The way you touch yourself and are touched by others.
Every layer - your soft and hard tissues, moving fluids, sensations and interoception, emotional and psychic presence in your pelvic bowl - is profoundly changed by the events of your life, their real-time and lasting impacts upon you, and by the way you hold and make meaning from those impacts.
Your pelvis speaks to you eloquently and directly through your emotions, your sensations, your structure and alignment, your range of motion, and your biochemistry.
If we want to deepen our relationship with our bodies, the quality of our attention is paramount, just as it is in any relationship.
The way we bring our attention, hands, and breath to our pelvises can rapidly bring about precise and essential waves of change in our tissues, sensations, and movement.
No matter what you’ve been diagnosed with. No matter how long it’s been going on.
This is your birthright, and it is always available to you.
Altar is a space for guided practice to bring us into right relationship with the immediate truth of our bodies.
Each practice will be rooted in the earthly and elemental transformations of each season of the year, and will include aspects of guided somatic awareness, attunement to breath and sensation, self-touch, reflection, rest, and dialogue.
If you experience pelvic issues of any kind, are curious about how you can come into deep connection and tenderness with yourself, and would enjoy tending to the marvelous altar of your body in alignment with the seasons, please join us.
Altar will take place quarterly, with the equinoxes and solstices, and we encourage you to come to all 4 to experience the full arc of changes through the year.
We are accepting registration and payment for the upcoming session on Sunday 23rd March 2025.
All sessions will be led by Emily and Pam.
Altar is open to people of all genders with internal sexual anatomy.
This is a 10000% queer- and trans-inclusive space.
